On Parenting

Perhaps the most difficult, probably often unmentioned, aspect of parenting that makes it so emotionally draining and complicated is that it is almost inevitable to (re)expose to, and then having to negotiate, those unresolved childhood conflicts with your parents, while taking care of your emotionally dependent child and re-experiencing those conflicts all over again as the parent at the same time.
